Bob Garner has consistently ranked among Newmark Cornish & Carey’s top performers since joining the San Mateo office in 1986. As a leader in the San Mateo County commercial market, he served as sales manager for 14 years in the San Mateo office, electing in 2011 to reduce his management duties in order to concentrate on brokerage. In January 2003, Mr. Garner became a partner and appointed executive vice president and board member of Newmark Cornish & Carey.
In his 28 years of working in the real estate industry, Mr. Garner has completed more than 1,200 lease and sales transactions and represented some of the Peninsula’s leading corporations. Some of his local clients represented include:

Focusing on office and R&D leasing, Mr. Garner specializes in representing institutional property owners on the Mid-Peninsula. He has also represented tenants on the Peninsula including Sony, Citibank, Catholic Healthcare West, Guidewire Software, The Prudential and UBS.
In 2014, Mr. Garner completed more than 50 lease and sale transactions representing Guidewire Software, TA Associates, Tishman Speyer, California Casualty, Embarcadero Capital, JP Morgan, Franklin Templeton Companies, Glenborough and JP Morgan Global Real Estate.
Mr. Garner has represented some of the speculative office projects on the Mid-Peninsula, including Shorebreeze I and II, Bayside Towers and Park Place at Bay Meadows. He is also marketing one of the largest Mid-Peninsula office projects, Bay Meadows Station. These successful Class A office projects are landmarks in San Mateo County.
Mr. Garner graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
